This industrial trend has been burgeoning on breathing new life into items one may have thought was past it's best and ready for the scrap heap. The reproduction pieces adhering to the doctrine of utilitarianism are being utilised in all manner, coffee tables, side tables, consoles beadheads..the list goes on. But I have to say there's nothing quite like seeing original items being brought back into the spot light.

and all things nice
There's nothing I love more than simple beauty. At home we are always discovering buried bottles and pieces of china in the back yard. Our collection of bottles is growing considerably and I can't part with any of them. It has become the norm for little posies in glass bottles to be placed throughout the house. My daughters now go and pick sprigs of rosemary and lavender and put them on their bedsides.
Simple ideas are often overlooked in seeking grandeur or making a statement, but look how simple this vignette is and what an impact it makes.

Inspiration
Inspiration comes in so many ways, sometimes it is unexpected, lichen on a stick found deep in the garden, such an accomodating colour, it has become one of my favourites.
Then you can have obvious elements of inspiration, for me Ralph Lauren always encapsulates me and I am instantly in a happy place.
So here is a little Ralph for a friday night, have a great week end.

Chic functuality
I came across this image of a humble ladder and thought I love the way a simple utilitarian item can defy it's definition and become an object of desire. So I thought I would share it.
